Drop a pebble in th water, what happens?  It creates waves.  Soon the ripples stretch throughout the entire pond.
                                              - Bruce Lee
As William Brown came toward the end of his time at Red Rocks Community College, he realized that he had three options after graduation.  He could move to Los Angeles to pursue his film career.  So many of his friends had already done that claiming they would find success and then bring it back to Colorado.  The ones who returned had mostly lost their dreams and the ones that were working never came back.  His second option was to freelance, competing for the work everyone else was getting.  Some years he would work and some years he would not; thus was the life of a freelancer in the state.  He did not find that appealing because all he wanted to do was make movies.  The final, and only appealing option, was the ill-advised and difficult path of starting his own production company.  That way if he was not working he only had himself to blame and if he was then he got to keep the rewards.

Having made his decision, William shopped around several company names.  Most of them were taken or were not very catchy.  That changed when he caught an old documentary on Bruce Lee.

In 2004 William and his mother, Sally A. Brown, formed Striking the Water Productions, LLC.  By 2005 the company was producing its first feature length narrative film,
Stained Glass Windows.  The path has been long and difficult since then but it has been as rewarding as promised.  The company is still looking for their follow up production, but the twenty-teens seem promising for the little production company making waves in Colorado.
Striking the Water Productions, LLC mostly develops stories and concepts in-house.  Meaning that we do not usually market, read or produce outside scripts.  That being said, we are always in the market for stories worth telling.   In a world of three hour epics, we are looking for dynamic, simple, meaningful and marketable stories that can be told in one hundred twenty minutes or less.

Outside of production services, we are always looking for talented individuals for our crews.  Creative, technical and business professionals looking for a start in motion picture production are welcome to submit a resume`s to us.

Actors - please stay current on our News page for casting calls and projects launching.  We will not keep headshots for review.
